To fill people in on the capabilities and drawbacks I experience with my unit:
This machine is great for playing single player games. Good battery life, picture is good but a tiny bit fuzzy.
This machine only accepts link-cable signals going IN, it will not SEND link cable data
This machine will not do any sort of pitch bending (L, P or V for you LSDJ users), and will ruin sound until pitch bending on any channel is killed. I would not recommend this device for chipmusic.
The screen cannot be moved to a stock Gameboy Color. Cases and buttons cannot be swapped perfectly either.
The CPU is pretty good, works with variable clock mod. CPU is not identical to original Gameboy Color CPU, different footprint (I believe).
Stock headphone jack is LOUD, but little static. Just be aware that this thing can really pump up the the jams. Unless you are dealing with pitch bends or vibrato.
If you are serious about playing Gameboy Color games with a good lit screen, use headphones, and pop in new batteries on a whim (unlike the GBA SP), this is worth the investment. If you are waiting for a saving grace Gameboy chiptune machine, this machine in its current form is not what you are looking for. :/
