Mario -- the Revolution - Page 1

Alex, in the T3 guestbook, brought up a very interesting idea: Create a Mario clone. No doubt it sounds preposterous, but I'm serious, a mario clone. One such clone would be exeptionally great, especially one made by such superior programmers as yourselves. Indeed, to capture the calc gaming society by storm, this may well be how to do it. Every calc lover's dream is to have mario (fully funtional, not the beta stuff some guys release with black and white and weird, unbeatable levels) on his calc. A full, nintendo-like Mario with the original levels and traditional Mario look and feel...why, it just might be possible to actually create... YES, it's actually conceivable now, with genlib, to do such a thing! This will soon mark the end of all Mario-cravings...the only question is, is your site ready for the traffic? Heh.

I am sorry, but I have really too much work to do. So personnaly, I can't do such a project (At least now).

Is not SMQ (Super Mario Quest) some sort of Mario ?

squale92: yes, SMQ is a mario clone, and it's actually quite nice, however, it also has problems and hasn't been updated in a while. Things like the menu not displaying correctly with grayscale turned on and sometimes grayscale problems on the HW2 calcs as well (in fact most of it's problems seem to stem from it being made for HW1 calcs...) it also has stability issues.... and bannanas instead of coins

If I had the the format of the map and the tile and the monster rip it's very easy.
But the rip of the game is very very long!

I've never had any problem with SMQ
(and I've played a lot with this game when I was in what french people call "Terminale" (before the BAC, the french equivalent of the english A-elevel, if i remember well))

Well, maybe my stability problems were with universal os rather than SMQ... I had it crash several times a day back when I used to play it...

also, maybe the fact I've got an HW1 improves stability (I don't know, it's just a suggestion...)
The same way, there are lots of people complaining because they've problems using txtrider... but, on my calc, when launched from the home screen (from an explorer it wasn't exactly the same thing...), it was almost perfectly stable (It sometimes crashed, but really not often...)
