squale92 Le 29/07/2004 à 23:22Edité par squale92 le 25/10/2004 à 03:34 This forum is an attempt to create a new international TI-68k forum to speak both about TIs themselves and related stuff - like programming and projects -, while avoiding the problems of existing boards (such as TICT's, or the French yAronet one), by:
• being open to the whole international community, like TICT Board
• providing a modern and popup-free interface, like yAronet
• having a "moderate moderation" (without falling into excessive moderation, which would inhibit even-handed discussions, or lack of moderation, which would result in the all-too-frequent flooding and smashing)
If needed, you can join the admins by short message.
At the moment, both squale92, Ximoon, and Vertyos are admins; however, this might change in the future, depending on the evolution of this board.
Once again, welcome!
I trust squale92 as a moderator. His behaviour has always been balanced (avoiding both extreme sides). I've never seen him doing any terrible moderation action.
I've discussed about moderation with Vertyos. I understand the way he moderates, although I don't fully approve it. He missed slander once, he knows he made a mistake, I guess he won't make the same again.
To sum up, the moderation on this section could have been much worse...
May this new board bring good things and let everyone work more peacefully together.
Last time, I left yAronet in order to leave by myself before being banned. No more such silliness now...
I don't understand why Kevin doesn't give this board a single chance. Interesting but sad to see that he considers me trusting this initiative going to the dark side...
If the new board is really as mean as he says, well, international users will quickly leave it. I'm sure nearly everyone is smart enough not to let this happen. I think talking frankly about the American presidential election, which will have an important impact on the state of the entire world, might be a good test for everybody, users and moderators. For example, how on earth could they let 400 tons of explosives fly away ? This is bound to greatly improve the security for soldiers and civilians...
If the new board isn't mean, this will benefit to the community. Less bashing, i.e. less time waste (this also applies to formerly neverending debates like kernel/AMS native); more cooperation; wider and better beta-testing... Both boards may actually get wider audience !
TI-Gen is obviously part of the community, too. But it may be a bit harder to put everyone to work together, since a number of unacceptable things (warning, I don't want to start a flame on this, I'm refering to the facts while adding one word reflecting my opinion) occurred between yAronet and TI-Gen.
Neither "side" will completely forget what's been going on for too long. But improving our behaviour is a proof that we're growing older and smarter... Newcomers hardly understand how things went so badly. When I'm thinking of the way I behaved when I first came on yAronet, nearly three years ago, I'm saying to myself "Man, how [in a word, stupid] you used to be.". I know, and I've written it more than once, that I've made many mistakes as a poster; fewer as a moderator. All this will have at least taught me a life lesson I'll try to do everything not to forget for the rest of my life...
BTW, did everyone see the way Kevin behaved on the TIGCC/TICT messageboard yesterday ? He started the flame, he edited or erased a number of my posts saying they were slander or off-topic ! It's not slander, it's truth, based on facts (actions, posts). Does anyone count the... err... let's say "mistakes" Kevin made as a moderator or a poster ? If anyone asked to be given the raw logs of them (nearly all of them are written in French), one per post, take for granted that the number of posts would be huge... I know I'm far from being aware of everything: I learnt some more yesterday reading the comments about the TI-FR news. A link to an image, which is a testimony of a masterpiece, was posted !
No wonder it's been a while since I've stopped trusting Kevin as a moderator. Him behaving in such a lame way will not improve anyone's opinion about him, that's for sure.
And, please all call me Lionel Debroux now.

Hello Lionel,
Well, one of the main reasons for creating this board is to start over, to forget old arguments and conflicts. We believe people will be able to moderate themselves (event better: won't even need to do so), and truly hope all ti programmers will at last be able to work together.
If this board was to at least bring back calm and mutual understanding between some people, I think this would be enough to justify its creation.

Well, it seems some people never stop feeding old griefs. Now could you please stop doing that, you are an annoyance more than anything else here, up to date.
Can't you have a bit of respect for the work we are doing, trying to cool things down and start over?
I would really like you to follow the rules and work in cooperation with other people here.
Thanks in advance.

By the way, I forgot to mention that #9 is not an attempt to do everything I can to slap Kevin and be accepted flawlessly by this board. It's an attempt to post what I'm thinking. I already posted nearly the same on TI-Gen (some of you know about it), it was even harsher and more detailed, and none of the posts was locked.
natto Le 28/10/2004 à 08:05 past is past. Let's forget about everything and try to cooperate all together.
